A GENIUS CAN BE HUMBLE, IS HIP HOP REBORN!?
Humble "g" is better known as, Myles Smith. He would like to thank, God, his mother, Robin Smith, his manager- Mckinley Tate III (a.k.a Mic Beats), his entertainment company- Global Entertainment, and Pamela Brown for believing in him. He would also like to thank Cleveland Hopkins Airport for giving him the opportunity to show his talents worldwide This is a story about humble beginnings, as a single mom struggles to help her son develop his gift of music. Mom, understanding at an early age that she had a child genius, began encouraging Humble "g" to explore his talent through the violin at age 12. Although he was enrolled into the Cleveland School of the Arts, he is basically self taught. During the growth period he honed his craft on the violin performing in many different cities with different orchestras such as; The Cleveland Hts High Symphony, The Cleveland School Settlement symphony and The Cleveland Suburban orchestra. Also at ages 16 and 17, he won first place two years in a row at the Cleveland Ohio Fraternity talent show representing Omega Si Phi chapter. Always a music lover, at age 15 humble started developing a passion for another art form called HipHop. This is also the point in time where he met his manager/mentor Mckinley Tate III (a.k.a Mic beats). Mckinley gave Humble a few music tracks to write to and shortly after he got a call from Humble saying that he wrote some lyrics to the tracks. Mckinley was impressed and was later asked by Humble to manage his newly formed rap group consisting of his younger brother (Jeremy Smith) and one other friend. A couple years later Humble decided to go on as a solo artist. At this time Humble signed on as a Global entertainment recording artist doing as many as 50 performances displaying some of the companies diverse talent all over Ohio and some parts of Atlanta, GA. The following is a list of a few of the places Humble has performed :
Peabodys The"Rotunda" at Cleve City Hall Ingenuity Festival Geneva Music Festival The Power Networking conference in Atlanta, Ga. The living Room Cafe with host, Silver "B" Richards Lakeland Community College The Agora with grammy award winner Mike Calhoun (Dazz Band) and the grandson of the late Robert Lockwood Jr. Tyrone Hornbucle (TBS band) And most recently at Tri-C Community College Eastern Campus opening for presidential candidate, Senator Barack Obama
It was at these performances where Humble developed performing both of his crafts, the violin and spitting verse ( the art form known as rapping) while dazzling audiences with this unique combination of Afri-pean music - a combination of African djembe drum ( provided by Dr. L.C. Woods M.D., V.P. of Edutainment for Global Entertainment & European violin by Humble g ) , and HipHope music - Positive concious HipHop, which is proving to be gaining a growing fan base. Global Entertainment is about putting out quality material in the form of edutainment. Being the president of Global Entertainment Mckinley Tate III (Mic Beats) is especially Proud of Humble g's growth, maturity, loyalty and respect. Humble's goals are synanomous with his company. Humble says " Music is sound in motion. When the sound of music moves, it moves us all as a people. That is why music reaches the barriers between people and proves we are all connected" . He wants to record and perform material that will begin bridging the gaps appealing to all that will hear and listen ultimately moving the mind, body , and spirit of the masses in a positive manner. Humble "g" will be releasing his new CD "Street Blues" late Spring of 2007. On the cd there is a track that is a dedication to his mom called "Over and Over" . On this song Humble praises and shows his love for his mom and at the same time talks about the effects that a single mom raising children has on generations to come. If you like violins and you are a big fan of Hip Hop(HipHope), then I would advise you to cop the CD" Street Blues" .
